JOE BAGALE CD RELEASE SHOW, WOW!
If you didn't make it to Joe Bagale's CD release show on April 4th at the historic Great American Music Hall, you missed Joe and the band's powerhouse, kick out the jams, get-down performance. Clad in a sharp suit topped off with an updown fedora, Joe and the Dirty Workshop just took the crowd higher and higher and carried on until they shut the place down. We at Yonas Media say, "Way to go, Joe! Congratulations on a great album and a great show."

RISE UP BAY AREA MUSICIANS
Bay Rising, the Bay Area's second annual battle of the bands hosted exclusively by Yonas Media, is accepting submissions from local independent artists of all genres from May 1, 2008 through June 30, 2008.

SPENCER DAY HEADS FOR ASIA
Spencer Day will appear at the second annual Singapore Sun Festival. The two-day cultural extravaganza featuring cultural and culinary creativity - music, visual arts, film, writing, cooking, wine, and even wellness - showcases the best of international talent. If you happen to be in Singapore October 25-26, don't miss it. This is Day's first appearance in Asia, and the Yonas Media crossover artist is looking forward to expanding his fan base to other side of the world.

LITTLE COW AND PLASTIC PEOPLE FALL TOUR
 Yonas Media has booked more dates for the Little Cow-Plastic People of the Universe tour. Confirmed dates so far include: the Lotus Arts and Music Festival (Bloomington IN), the Chicago World Music Festival, the Madison World Music Festival,  The Milwaukee World Music Festival, The Hideout Block Party (Chicago), The Black Swamp Arts Festival (Bowling Green OH), the Arab American Cultural Museum (Dearborn MI), La Societe (Canada), and the Cedar Cultural Center (Minneapolis MN). We are excited to be representing Little Cow, the Hungarian gypsy-rock sextet, and Plastic People of the Universe, the legendary Czech psychedelic rock band.

REALISTIC ORCHESTRA TRIBUTE
SERIES AT BRUNO'S
In May and June, Bruno's Nightclub in San Francisco will host the Realistic Orchestra's Tribute Show Series.
The series kicks off Tuesday, May 6th (also Ben's B-day) with the 3rd Annual Birthday Tribute to Stevie Wonder. This show will feature Realistic Orchestra's 20-piece band playing all Stevie Wonder arrangements, and includes guest appearances by Joe Bagale, Kim Nalley, Chris McGee, Emily Schmidt and Dublin (from The Shotgun Wedding Quintet).

FORREST DAY AND KID BEYOND HEAD UPTOWN!
Singer/songwriter/producer/multi-instrumentalist/ indie/rap/experimental  Forrest Day, whose smart lyrics and catchy hooks defy categorization but attract fans of all stripes, will be at Oakland's favorite spot for DJs, bands and drinks, The Uptown, on Saturday, June 7th. Sharing equal billing is Kid Beyond, the self proclaimed "singer, beat-boxer, live looper, one-man band." Also on the bill will be the debut of a new project, featuring Dublin and DJ Aspect of The Shotgun Wedding Quintet.
Day takes off on his first West Coast tour in June. Confirmed dates so far in Seattle, Portland, Boise, Las Vegas and Los Angeles.
In the meantime, Forrest has been in the studio with Ben Yonas and Matt Brown working hard on his full-length debut. Watch this space for details.

ADAM THEIS RECEIVES $50,000 GRANT
 Congratulations to Jazz Mafia's Adam Theis! Recipient of a William and Flora Hewlett Foundation "emerging composer" grant, he will create a 60-minute piece, which will premiere next spring at the SF Jazz Festival. The YM staff is looking forward to promoting what is expected to be a memorable concert. The Foundation's performing arts program's mission "is to support artistic expression and its enjoyment through grantmaking aimed at the sustainability of high-quality San Francisco Bay Area organizations."
